Lock Out Windows Explorer
For increased security of your VisitorRego system, the Kill Explorer feature terminates the Windows Explorer shell, helping reduce access to Windows functions if someone exits or toggles out of the software.
When active, this can hide or disable access to elements such as the Windows taskbar, Start menu, and File Explorer.
Enabling the Kill Explorer Function
1. From VisitorRego’s Admin mode, select Options to open the System Setup menu.
2. Navigate to the General tab, then expand the General section.
3. Locate the Kill Explorer option.
4. Tick the Kill Explorer checkbox to enable the feature.

5. Close the System Setup window to save the changes.
The Windows Start menu, taskbar, and File Explorer will no longer be visible once the Kill Explorer function has been enabled.
Returning to Self-Registration Mode
1. From the navigation bar, select File > Self Registration to return to Self-Registration mode.
The Kill Explorer function may not operate as expected on Windows 11 systems due to changes in how the Windows shell is managed by Microsoft.
