Loading Staff via CSV in Admin Mode

VisitorRego offers multiple ways to maintain your staff list. This knowledge base article explains how to import staff directly through the software itself in Admin mode using a CSV file.

We recommend utilising the user-friendly interface available on the VR Portal website for loading staff via CSV. For comprehensive instructions and guidance, please refer to the details provided in this article.

Preparing the CSV file


The staff data must be in a CSV file with columns arranged in a specific order for successful import. You can manually set the column headers yourself, or contact support for a copy of the CSV template.

The screenshot below shows the required column order for a CSV file to correctly load staff data.


 
Once you have the CSV template prepared, enter the staff details into the appropriate columns.

The most important details to enter would be the staff members name and Email address. Mobile would also be important to enter if SMS notifications are enabled on your VisitorRego unit.

After entering the staff data in the correct columns, save the file as .csv (Comma Delimited).


Loading the File


From the VisitorRego Admin mode window, select Options> Staff tab> CSV Upload
 


Select the CSV file containing the staff details you have previously entered, then click Open.



The CSV file must be accessible on your VisitorRego unit. If you've prepared the CSV on another computer, you'll need to transfer it to the VisitorRego unit. You can do this in various ways, such as with a USB stick, over a network, or using remote access software like TeamViewer.

After a few moments, if the import was successful, a window will appear indicating the number of staff members that were updated.



When using this method to load a staff list, it will completely replace the existing list with the newly imported one.
